WRDB Settles Commercial Vehicle Case
Nueces County, Texas – On March 3, 2017 Priscilla Lopez and Armando Ramos were struck by a commercial vehicle causing serious and permanent injuries to them. David L. Rumley and Cullen Moore, of Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair, LLP filed suit against the commercial driver and company alleging negligence not only in the operation of the commercial vehicle but in the route chosen by the commercial driver.
“This was a classic case of poor and unsafe decision-making while behind the wheel of a commercial vehicle that weighs thousands of pounds, towing another vehicle also weighing thousands of pounds. Why cross multiple lanes of traffic coming from both the left and right instead of simply making three right turns into the closest lane of traffic? Makes no sense,” said attorney Cullen Moore.
Both Lopez and Ramos underwent surgery and extensive post-surgery therapy. The case was settled for a confidential sum.
