At Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP, we know that severe accident cases and complex personal injury matters may arise for a lawyer or law firm here in Texas or elsewhere in the country that is (1) outside the firm’s practice areas; or (2) requires intensive commitments of time and expense that might be unduly burdensome to the organization.
Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP is honored to be in a position to team with other attorneys in the pursuit of justice for these injury victims.
Today, we consider it a privilege that much of our docket is comprised of referrals.
From our perspective, our growing referral base demonstrates the trust and confidence fellow attorneys have placed with us. It is an honor to be selected to serve both our referring counsel and their referred clientele.
National Collaboration
In fact, today Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP has built a national reputation of being ready to help other lawyers in complex matters involving injured plaintiffs forced to pursue litigation against corporations who have failed to take responsibility for their actions and resulting harm. This is particularly true in cases involving defective products, defective car parts, industrial accidents, and oilfield accidents.
Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP attorneys are licensed to practice law by the Supreme Courts of Texas, Oklahoma, and Arizona. We routinely collaborate in matters filed in other state and federal jurisdictions on a pro hac vice basis.
Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP attorneys have successfully appeared before judges and tried cases all across the United States.
Referral Arrangements
Our law firm stands ready to assist other attorneys in a variety of capacities. We can act as “local counsel” here in Texas when needed. We can also work together as co-counsel as well as taking the reins in litigation as lead trial counsel. This is true both for cases filed within the State of Texas as well as litigation filed in other state and federal courts.
Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP’s referral process must be in harmony with the latest requirements of the Texas Rules of Professional Conduct governing fees, specifically Rule 1.04(f),(g). We are happy to negotiate the level of involvement of the referring counsel, and we negotiate fees based upon a variety of factors, including:
- Complexity of the matter factually;
- Complexity of the law applicable to the claims;
- Expense requirements (investigation, expert opinions, reconstruction, testing, etc.);
- Requirements of the jurisdiction where the accident occurred and/or the suit is filed;
- Time frame for the litigation and trial; and
- Level of responsibility undertaken by Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP.
Our agreements are negotiated and executed with full agreement and understanding on the part of all the attorneys involved as well as the clients who have been harmed and are seeking justice.
Everyone at Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair LLP considers it an honor to be entrusted with your interests as well as those of your client. Have a case to refer?
