Defective Car Part: Ford Defective Tire Cause Rollover

Nueces County, Texas: On June 1, 2012, the left rear tire of a 2001 Ford F150 Pickup failed, causing the tire to de-tread. Richard Arredondo lost control of the vehicle, and it veered back and forth over the center median before it rolled over and landed on its roof. Mr. Arredondo and his wife, Eva Arredondo were trapped inside the truck, suspended upside down, until help could arrive.

Wigington Rumley Dunn & Blair, L.L.P. filed suit contending that that the 2001 Ford F150 pickup was unreasonably dangerous because it had design, manufacturing, and marketing defects when it left Ford’s hands and entered into the stream of commerce. Ford Motor Company was negligent in designing, configuring, engineering, fabricating, assembling, building, manufacturing, producing, labeling, testing, marketing, promoting, advertising, importing, distributing, selling, installing, servicing, and/or repairing said vehicle. Ford was also negligent in failing to provide a sound and safe product to protect the safety of operators and passengers under foreseeable circumstances. This case settled for a confidential sum.
